Activities on the Farm

Aasar Pandhra Celebrations

Experience the Soul of the Earth at Moonbeam Farmstay- join us in our Aasar Pandhra Celebrations, we believe in celebrating the rhythms of nature and the timeless traditions that connect us to the land. That's why, every year on June 29th, we joyously observe Aasar Pandhra, a deeply significant paddy sowing festival that marks a crucial moment in the agricultural calendar.

Adventure Awaits

At Moonbeam Farmstay, we offer an array of thrilling adventure activities, including rappelling, jumaring, and rock climbing. All these activities are conducted under the expert supervision of Mr. Vinod Chhetri, a certified and highly experienced adventure guide from Tunglabong.

Hike to The Mecheoung (Medicine Water-Dabaipani)

Our elders in the Farmstay narrate stories about how our ancestors used to visit the medicine water and carve wooden bathtubs out of a tree trunk, unhurriedly fill it up with clean river water, and build a huge fire to heat the river stones.

Lepcha Museum, Kalimpong

A Cultural Must-See. Step into a realm where whispers of ancient mountains echo through handcrafted artifacts and timeworn manuscripts. The Lepcha Museum, nestled near the serene Kumudhni Homes School in Kalimpong, isn't just a collection; it's a living, breathing testament to the enduring spirit of the Lepcha people. Founded in 1985 by the visionary Padmashree- Late Sonam Tshering Lepcha, this sanctuary preserves the soul of Lepcha culture, defying the shadows of time with every meticulously displayed rare collection of the material culture of the Lepcha manuscripts (Namthar), every resonant musical instrument, and every intricately crafted utensil.

Kursong Ecostay, Lungsel

Kursong eco stay is in the most literal sense nestled in the lush green hills of Kalimpong. I consciously use the word nestled as the cottage is seated in an unusual flat land among the very common slopes surrounding it from all sides. The village, Lungsel is supposed to be one of the remote off beat locations in the district but you’ll hardly feel the remoteness, because the travel will be flawlessly planned in a way that one could conveniently hop on the daily service from the nearest town of Gorubathan.

Experience Namsoong

Celebrate Namsoong with us at Moonbeam Farmstay! Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of the Lepcha people and experience the joyous Namsoong festival with us at Moonbeam Farmstay! Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Tunglabong, Gorubathan, District Kalimpong, our farmstay offers a unique opportunity to participate in this significant harvest festival and New Year celebration.

Hike to The Hidden Waterfall

The hike to the Hidden Waterfall is very adventurous and venturesome. It is a moderately strenuous hike and the path may involve a moderate incline and may have some steeper sections with some rock scrambling, and stream crossings, can go over unpaved roads (where no additional technical skills are needed) and other moderately challenging terrain.

A Culinary Exchange at Moonbeam Farmstay

At Moonbeam Farmstay, we believe that sharing a meal is one of the best ways to connect and learn. As part of our experiential stays, we love fostering a vibrant exchange of food cultures among our guests.

Lepcha Trails

Embark on an unforgettable journey curated by Muhaan and Moonbeam Farmstay to unravel the hidden narratives of the Lepcha people, the original inhabitants of Kalimpong. In the company of expert guides, you'll venture into remote and picturesque villages, where the allure of Lepcha culture comes to life. Your days will be filled with treks to ancient forts, captivating forest hikes, and engaging interactions with local cultural experts.

Chel Riverside Hike

The Hike is a slow and calming downhill walk from the farm stay to the soothing and healing pristine waters of Chel River. Within a few minutes of starting the stroll downhill, one can experience breathtaking views of the Neora range and the plains from the vantage point where we just take time to enjoy nature to gain perspective on our lives and the world around us. The connection with nature helps us relax, reduce stress and anxiety, and connect us to something greater than ourselves.
